All kinds of volunteers are needed for Alzheimer’s research: People who have the disease in their family and people who don’t; those are who cognitively healthy and those with memory problems; and people with health issues that may be a risk factor for Alzheimer’s. The Judy Fund helps fight Alzheimer’s disease in honor of its namesake
Judy Jaffe Gelfand was a concert pianist and music teacher who died in 2004 of Alzheimer’s after close to a decade-long battle with the disease. The Judy Fund, established 10 years ago in her memory, has raised more than $5.5 million to support Alzheimer’s research and advocacy in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association.
