Dear Advocate,

Today marks a milestone in our efforts to address the Alzheimer's epidemic with the release of the "Draft Framework for the National Plan to Address Alzheimer's Disease" by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

This initial framework highlights many solutions to the challenges raised by advocates like you from across the country and identified by Congress in the passing of the National Alzheimer’s Project Act one year ago. Next, in the coming weeks we will be expecting the Administration to release a draft plan that details how, specifically, it proposes to accomplish the goals and strategies listed in this framework.

Document OutlinePlease take a moment to Read the Draft Framework and let us know what you think.

Your comments will continue to play a vital role as we work with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to achieve what she called, “an aggressive and coordinated national strategy” on Alzheimer’s. And as promised in our previous messages,  we will continue to keep you updated throughout this process and call upon you to take action when important changes arise.

On behalf of the more than 5 million individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their 15 million caregivers, thank you for your feedback. Like you, we are dedicated to ensuring a National Alzheimer’s plan that is urgent, transformational, achievable and accountable – anything less is unacceptable.

Sincerely,

Robert Egge
Vice President, Public Policy
