For over 30 years, the Colorado chapter has hosted an education conference for family caregivers, friends and professional care providers to learn more about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. This year is no different but, thanks to the generosity of the Marion Esser Kaufmann Foundation, we will be live via webinar so that participants can join us safely from the comfort of their home or workplace. Find out about the latest advances in research on day one, during our keynote featuring Alzheimer’s Association Director of Scientific Engagement Rebecca Edelmayer, Ph.D. On day two, join us to learn more about other types of dementia from a panel of experts.
We’ve designed an event that will help with the challenges of caregiving during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has greatly impacted people living with dementia. Sessions will include ways to practice self-care, help navigating all of the care options, learn what person-centered care really looks like, how to make each day a meaningful one for those you care for, and the importance of tackling those tough conversations about end of life. We will close both days with a touch of humor and hope.
