VOLUNTEERS HONORED AT BLAINE HOUSE
Award Ceremony Awknowledges Time & Talent
On April 17th as part of National Volunteer
Week, the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter held the annual Volunteer
Recognition Celebration at the Blaine House in Augusta to honor our dedicated
volunteers, supporters and champions for their work in the fight against
Alzheimer’s. The ceremony featured the Marilyn Paige Founder’s Award for
Volunteerism, Collaborative Spirit Award, Robert Stram Award for Advocacy,
Corporate Champion Award, 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Awards and 2017 Longest

PURPLE RAIN FOR ALZHEIMER'S AWARENESS
Weekend Concerts Benefit The Longest Day
On Friday, June 29th at 8 p.m. Vinegar Hill Music
Theatre in Arundel presents Purple Rain for Alzheimer’s Awareness featuring New
England's premier Prince tribute band Dean Ford & the Beautiful Ones. The band covers the
Purple Rain album in its entirety as well as the hits between 1978 and 2015.
On Saturday, June 30th
at 8 p.m. the
ultimate 80’s cover band, The Awesome take the stage and perform favorites like Love is a
Battlefield, Use Your Love, Africa, 99 Red Balloons and more. The Alzheimer’s Association will receive $10 from ticket sales from both events. Tickets are limited and available on a first come, first-served
basis and available at vinegarhillmusictheatre.com

Join Our Support Group Facilitator Training on July 19th

We’d
like to extend our sincere thanks to our program volunteers and especially
acknowledge Kristie Miner who has generously donated 17 years of her talent as
a support group facilitator in the Bangor area. Our volunteer
facilitators enable us to offer more than 35 statewide family and caregiver support
groups that provide emotional, educational and social support to their members. We encourage
caring, knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers to register for our Volunteer Support
Group Facilitator Training on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in
Scarborough.
