Three scientists find themselves at high risk of Alzheimer's
According to research, people who inherit two copies of the gene variant APOE4 have a 60% chance of developing Alzheimer's by age 85. Only 2% to 3% of people in the United States have this genetic profile; three scientists are among this group, and they're making an effort to protect their brains — as well as the brains of others.

If you've been diagnosed with Alzheimer's or another dementia, it's normal to experience fear or discomfort about sharing your diagnosis. However, talking openly with those you trust can help educate them and encourage them to offer their support.
