Abuse can occur anywhere, including care settings
People living with dementia are especially vulnerable to abuse because the disease may prevent them from reporting or recognizing it. They also may fall prey to strangers who take advantage of their cognitive impairment. Learn the types and signs of abuse and how to report an incident or concern.
