Consumption of olive oil linked to lower Alzheimer’s risk
Adding olive oil to your diet could lower Alzheimer's risk as well as cardiovascular disease and cancer, new research suggests. Scientists studied more than 90,000 Americans for 28 years and found those who consumed olive oil daily reduced their risk of death from disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease by 29%. The results add to evidence that a diet featuring fruits, vegetables and healthy fats such as olive oil, plus lower consumption of processed meats, sugary drinks and desserts, decreases the risk of disease.
