Link may exist between ADHD and dementia
A family connection to attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) may increase the risk of Alzheimer's and dementia, new study results suggest. Researchers found that parents and grandparents of people with ADHD have a higher risk of Alzheimer's and dementia than people with no ADHD in their family. Experts caution that while the study shows a possible connection between the conditions, the results don’t prove that someone with ADHD will definitely develop Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
