Connection may exist between COVID-19 and dementia
Researchers are exploring whether COVID-19 infections could have long-term consequences for the brain. In trial results presented at the Alzheimer’s Association International ConferenceŽ 2021, scientists said they found changes in brain biology after hospitalization with COVID-19 and a link between smell loss and mental sharpness in older adults.

Former council chair discusses NAPA’s impact
In 2010, the Alzheimer’s Association and the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement worked with Congress to develop the National Alzheimer's Project Act (NAPA), which led to the creation of a strategic plan to address the rapidly escalating Alzheimer’s crisis.
