People living with dementia may have higher COVID-19 risk
In study results published in Alzheimer’s & Dementia®: The Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association, researchers found that the risk of contracting COVID-19 was twice as high for participants living with dementia than for those without it. In addition, when examining those in the study living with dementia, Black participants had close to three times the COVID-19 risk as Whites.

Alzheimer’s diagnosis brings new view on life
In 2016, at age 51, Arthena Caston was in shock when she was diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer’s. Now a member of the Alzheimer’s Association Board of Directors, Caston watched the progression of the disease in her father and didn’t want the same fate: “Once I had my diagnosis, I had to take action.”
