Alzheimer's Association research funding, care and support priorities receive bipartisan Senate approval
This week, the Senate Labor-HHS Appropriations Subcommittee took action in the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease, demonstrating they have heard the calls of the Alzheimer’s Association and its relentless advocates. For the second year in a row, the subcommittee has adopted the Alzheimer’s Association’s request for historic research funding and recommended a $400 million increase for Alzheimer’s disease research at the NIH. Additionally, in a historic move focusing care and support programs, the Subcommittee incorporated the Health Outcomes, Planning, and Education (HOPE) for Alzheimer’s Act (S. 857/H.R. 1559) into its funding bill.
