Legislators make bipartisan call for landmark increase in Alzheimer's research funding
The House Appropriations Committee today approved the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies (Labor-HHS) bill, including an additional $300 million for Alzheimer’s disease research. Yesterday, the Senate Labor, Health and Human Services (Labor-HHS) Appropriations Subcommittee approved a 60 percent increase — approximately $350 million — for Alzheimer's research. The Alzheimer's Association applauds these efforts in recognizing the unique triple threat that Alzheimer's disease poses with its soaring prevalence, enormous cost and lack of treatment.

Reader's Digest/Alzheimer's Association survey reveals how Americans view brain health
A new survey from Reader’s Digest and the Alzheimer’s Association reveals that many Americans don’t prioritize brain health compared with other aspects of well-being, and don’t realize certain lifestyle habits can lower their risk of cognitive decline. For example, only 5 percent of people surveyed consider their brain when trying to eat healthy and only 62 percent realize that smoking affects their risk of cognitive decline. The Alzheimer's Association recently released 10 Ways to Love Your Brain, tips that may reduce the risk of cognitive decline.

Performance Foodservice supports the Alzheimer’s Association with Forget Me Not cookies
Performance Foodservice, one of the nation’s largest food distributors, has created a Forget Me Not cookie to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The chocolate cookie with marshmallow bits and purple chocolate gems will be available to the company’s restaurant, hotel, theater and other customers. Performance Foodservice is donating $25,000 in support of the Association and will donate $2 per case of frozen Forget Me Not cookie dough sold from June 1, 2015, to June 31, 2016.
