The purpose of this meeting is to explore the relationship of neurodegenerative disease, such as Alzheimer's, and TBI or PTSD. These diseases can cause cognitive impairment and dementia, which impose terrible hardships on our veterans and their families, as well as significant costs to the health care system. Specific plans for studying this problem further, and performing clinical trials to prevent Alzheimer's disease and dementia in veterans will be discussed.
