Southeast Missouri State University and its partners offer a one-day conference for all healthcare professionals with an emphasis in gerontology and geriatrics. This conference will offer the latest information, trends, and tools in gerontology and geriatric medicine.

Health related topics to be addressed include screening for frailty, nutrition, sarcopenia, and cognition, in addition to the most current updates on dementia, end of life, cultural trends in long-term care, and cognitive stimulation therapy.

The conference will feature Dr. John E. Morley, Director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Saint Louis University. Dr. Morley is known internationally as a gerontological researcher, clinician, and educator.

Professional continuing education hours are available for the following disciplines: Acupuncturist, Athletic Training, Counselor- Professional/Clinical, Dentists/Dental Hygienist, Dietitian/Nutritionist, Marriage and Family Counselor, Nurse (APN, RN, LPN), Nursing Home Administrator, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Psychologist, Respiratory Therapist, and Social Worker.

Continuing education hours are provided by the University of Illinois, College of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine in collaboration with the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois. This program has been approved for seven contact/clock hours..
