Please join the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter for our

2013 Statewide Educational Conference 

 October 25, 2013 at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor, ME. 

This full-day conference will feature a keynote from Mal Allard, a research update from Dr. Cliff Singer and will include a variety of programs for both family and professional caregivers as well as people living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Registration includes lunch and six contact hours for professionals. 

This year, our keynote speaker will be Mal Allard, Mal Allard is the Founder & Director of Their Real World, a company that offers Alzheimer's and dementia education. Mal has specialized in Alzheimer's and dementia for nineteen years. She has partnered with the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts and New Hampshire Chapter and participated in a award winning Joanne Koenig Coste DVD introducing Habilitation therapy entitled, "Learning to Speak Alzheimer's".

The conference will also feature a research update by Dr. Cliff Singer, and an advocacy luncheon panel discussion with congressional leaders and their staff to discuss public policy. Seminars will include legal and financial planning; partnering with your doctor; developing a community safety net for people with dementia living independently; an improvisational acting experience designed to help people with dementia and their care partners; and the “Spaces Between Your Fingers Project,” a special workshop that helps people with dementia author and preserve their memories.
