The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease
How to care for someone who is affected by Alzheimer's disease or other dementia 

If someone you are caring for or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia, this program can help. It is designed for professional and family caregivers who need basic information about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The program will be interactive and allow opportunity for discussion, problem solving, and questions and answers.

Information provided during this session is applicable to professionals who are working in assisted living, nursing home, home health, hospice and other organizations. Practical tips, suggestions, and strategies will be discussed that relate to numerous care settings. Family caregivers are also welcome. 

Who Should Attend? Social workers, nurses, STNA’s, and other interested persons.

Registration Fee: The cost of this program is $15.00 and includes CEs or certificate of attendance, and handouts.

Refund or No Show Policy: Refunds will not be given for “no-shows,” but substitute participants are welcome. 

Continuing Education: This offering has been approved for 2.0 contact hours of continuing professional education for social workers. The Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter is an approved provider of social worker CPE by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Nurses may use social worker CE.
