My sisters Diane, Sherri, and I are raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against dementia — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia understand the struggle of parents and grandparents who are fighting this disease. This year, our fundraising effort takes on new meaning, as our mother Janet Kauffman passed away on October 19 after a two-year struggle with dementia. She had a beautiful smile until her last day, but this disease robbed our formerly independent and vibrant mom of precious time with her family.
