Hope (Gran Gran, Hopie, Nana Hope) M. Garvey was a fun loving, spirited grandmother, mom, sister and friend. She left this world peacefully on September 14, 2022 surrounded by those that love her at the age of 67.

She was born to Jack and Ruth Kearney on October 4, 1954 in Chelsea, MA. She was the youngest of three children. She was named Hope because her family had always “hoped” for another child.

After graduating from Northeastern University in 1976, she began her lifelong career as a speech pathologist helping children with special needs in Memphis, TN. She was passionate about helping children communicate and working with children who stuttered or needed assistive technology was a specific passion of hers. While attending her masters program in Gainsville, FL she met and married Hal Garvey, and became the mother of her two children - Amanda and Dustin. Hope later divorced and remarried Gerry Antonik on June 17, 2017.

Hope loved to watch hockey, read, spend time at her local coffee shop, spend time socializing with friends, attend church, spend time with her dog Puck and listen and dance to music. In retirement she volunteered at Heartland Hands Food Pantry in Horn Lake, MS. She and her sister Ellen moved to Colorado Springs in 2021 when she needed more help and care from family.

Hope leaves behind her loving children Amanda Shinall of Colorado Springs, CO and Dustin Garvey of Exeter, NH; her lifelong companion, best friend, and older sister Ellen Kearney of Colorado Springs, CO; precious grandchildren Brenna, Kiley, Simon, Adelaide, Sean and Riley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
