“Disco” Donna Aucoin O’Neill, a native of Kenner, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at Henican House on Thursday, August 29th, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born in Metairie and met her husband and best friend of 64 years and husband of 56 years when they were 14. She was a secretary, and an office manager for many years, and once her grandchildren were born, she dedicated her life to family and was known as Hot Nana. She never left the house without her hair and makeup perfect and something sparkly with her spunky, effervescent personality in tow. A long-time dancer and was always the life of the party, often making custom playlists for her loved ones of disco music and 90’s R&B. She brought warmth and light to every place she went, with so many touched by the depth of her welcoming love, care, and radiance. She is survived by her husband, John O’Neill, her siblings, Susan Price and Michael Aucoin, her daughter, Melissa O’Neill Monaghan, and her grandchildren, Ashley O’Neill Monaghan and Kelly Monaghan Fairburn. We are indebted to Gloria Gonzales, Mimi, and the team at Henican House for the dedicated sitters and nurses that provided her with such extraordinary care for the end of her life. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
