On Thanksgiving 2019, my grandfather, Harold Harmsen, passed away after suffering from Alzheimer's for many years. In the days since, many have reached out to me to share their own personal stories of loved ones with Alzheimer's. Too many of us have already experienced the long goodbye to those we love.
In honor of my grandfather, I'm starting a campaign to support the Alzheimer's Association. Donations to the campaign will help support families who are affected by the disease, initiatives to raise awareness, and important research toward treatment, prevention, and, hopefully, a cure.
In this giving season, please join me in contributing any amount, great or small, in memory of my grandfather -- and in honor of everyone who has been impacted by Alzheimer's.
