Virginia was born in San Antonio, Texas, on April 2, 1941, to the late Gustavo and Ramona Rodriguez. In 1965, she married her sweetheart, Paul L. Garcia. After starting their family in San Antonio, they moved to Plano, Texas, in 1978 with their three young children and have lived there ever since. Together, they have seen their family and metroplex grow during their 59 years of marriage.
Virginia was known for her warm smile and welcoming personality. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her nine grandchildren and, most recently, her five great-grandchildren. They will remember her as being their biggest prayer warrior.
Besides nurturing her family, she enjoyed helping others and volunteering at church. Virginia loved to bake and was known to share what she made--especially her famous pumpkin bread and reposterķa (Mexican sugar cookies) around the holidays. She always had time for friends who needed help during difficult times, and Paul would tell her she would have made a wonderful nurse or counselor.
After suffering from Alzheimer's disease for many years, Virginia is finally at rest and will be missed by her family and numerous friends who cherished her friendship.
