Shirley was a fighter and a warrior who battled Alzheimer's with bravery and grace until the end. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and a reminder that a person's strength doesn't come from their physical capabilities alone. It also stems from their resolve and determination to overcome any obstacle life throws their way.
Shirley had an infectious laugh and her personality lit up every room she entered.
Watching her health deteriorate, as the disease progressed was heartbreaking, but Shirley never lost her sense of humor, her love for life, or her fighting spirit.
On August 17th, 2023, we lost a remarkable woman, but her spirit lives on through all of the lives she touched. She reminded us of the importance of love, compassion, and community in the face of adversity. And she showed us that we can find hope and inspiration even in the most challenging moments.
In honor of Shirley's memory please accept this call to action to help the Alzheimer's Association raise awareness, support those affected by Alzheimer's, and find a cure.
