Shirley Ann Williams (80) passed peacefully in her home on Thursday, December 23, 2021, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Shirley was born on July 14, 1941, in Mobile, Alabama. While in 8th grade, she met the love of her life, Billy Williams. Shirley and Billy were married on February 25, 1960, and were devoted partners, lovers, and friends during their sixty-one years of marriage.

Shirley was a devoted and loving mother to her four daughters and a proud grandmother to her six grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Billy, she is survived by her children, Valarie (Wayne) Hill, Nina Williams, Julia Williams, and Sandra (Kevin) Simpson as well as her grandchildren Nicolette Simpson, William Hill, Jasmine Simpson, Jeran Simpson, Christian Harris, and Kendall Simpson.

Shirley's light will be remembered by all who have interacted with her, and she will forever be remembered for her kindness, her compassion, and the gentle strength that she exuded throughout her lifetime. Her love of life and joyous spirit could be seen in the way that she cooked so that everyone was fed, danced so that everyone around her remembered to always have a little fun, and showed affection so that everyone knew they were entirely loved.

She will be dearly missed by all!

"Well done, my good and faithful servant!" ~ Matthew 25:23

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families and friends who have been touched by this horrible, debilitating disease.

Keep praying for a cure!!
