Our family has said goodbye for the last time to our mother, grandmother and great grandmother - an incredibly talented, creative, loyal and spiritual soul.
With Dementia - it's not that last goodbye but the last hello that is most difficult. With Sally, during the last 3 years as her vascular dementia limited her more she was constantly surprised by our visits - and sometimes multiple times in one day. We were lucky that she still remembered who we were and that she was joyful for the visit - whether we had just arrived or we had left the room for a fresh glass of filtered water for her and returning.
