I walk in honor of my mother, Ae Su Felder—a woman of unbreakable strength and boundless love who sacrificed everything to give my brother and me the life she never had. Born in Korea and shaped by hardship, she taught us resilience, love, and dedication. Even as Alzheimer’s slowly took her from us, her pride in us and her love never faded.

Our father, too, deserves recognition for his unwavering devotion to my mother. During her final years, he became her full-time caregiver, neglecting his health in the process. Just 18 days after her passing, he left this world to reunite with her.

This walk is not only for our parents but for all mothers, fathers, and families impacted by Alzheimer’s. It’s about raising awareness of the devastating toll this disease takes, and it’s about funding research to one day end Alzheimer’s. I walk to honor their memory and to support a future where no family has to endure this loss.
