Norma Egerton Evans, age 92 of Brooksby Village - Peabody MA, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2020. Norma was the beloved wife of Albert Evans for over 70 years.

Raised in Methuen MA, she was the daughter of Amy and Arthur Egerton. She survived her brother Art and his wife, Shirley Egerton. Norma graduated Methuen High School in 1945 and Colby College in 1949. She worked in the field of Medical Technology and married the love of her life shortly after graduation. Norma met Al in eighth grade, became and remained friends during his deployment in World War II. After graduation, Norma and Al settled in their hometown of Methuen to raise their family. In 1963, they moved to Andover where they lived for 41 years. In 2004 Norma and Al moved to Brooksby Village, Peabody, MA.

Norma had a passion for painting, a love for gardening, enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and traveling with her husband. She had a love for animals and never refused a stray. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband Albert Evans, her children, David Evans and his partner Katie Glick of Wells ME., Steven Evans and his wife Mara of East Sandwich, MA and Liz Butters and her husband Bob of Wilmington, MA. Her grandchildren Nico Evans and his wife Camree of York, ME, Amy McIntyre and her husband Rick of Londonderry, NH, Evan Butters of Wilmington, MA, Harrison Evans and Rosie Evans of East Sandwich, MA.


The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 4th at 1 pm at Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen MA. Visitation will be held at 11 am to the time of service. Followed by Interment at the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
