I remember a story uncle Leroy told me once, a long time ago. He was in The Marine Corps, stationed on the island of Okinawa 1958 or 1959. Leroy worked as a warehouseman in his Company Supply outfit. He said overall, it was good duty, but counting candles and tent stakes was kind of tedious. I was an active duty Marine at the time of his telling me this. He said, "You know Okinawa was hot that summer. We had a battalion inspection on the parade deck one morning. It took 1/2 of our day, standing in the bright Sun. Marines were dropping like flies, but I stood tall!" Uncle Leroy aways stood tall! My heart goes out to the family and all persons who knew him. Our world is a little more empty in his absence, but Heaven has gained a GREAT MAN.
