Karin Williamson

Loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Karen Ellen Williamson, 69, affectionately known as Karin and Gramma Karin, passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband and her children.

Karin was born to Earle Wade and Geraldine (White) Williamson on December 12, 1953 in South Weymouth, MA. She was raised in Concord, MA, where she attended Concord-Carlisle High School, and Trinity Episcopal Church, and worked as a lifeguard at White Pond.

At Boston University she earned her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1976. This enabled her to realize her passion for helping others. She flourished in the clinical setting, working as an in-home occupational therapist for over 30 years. She was an expert in her field and was often requested by name.

Karin was a deeply caring person who was generous with her gifts and time. Her artistic talent was visible in the beautiful greeting cards that she crafted. These were heartwarming gifts for the fortunate ones who received them. She enjoyed volunteering and giving back to the community through her local farmer's market and church.

Karin met her husband, David Sanderson, while contra dancing at the Concord Scout House. David and Karin were a match for the ages, spending many of their days together dancing, cooking, and enjoying nature walks. They were brought together in love and a blended family emerged.

Karin shared a deep love with her husband David, whose devotion was evident to those who saw them. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Savior in Bedford, and a loyal servant of God. Karin spent many of her hours caring for others, both in her career and in her free time. Though we're all sad that Karin's beautiful journey here on earth has ended, we rejoice in the knowledge that it is the beginning of her eternal reward in heaven.

Karin is survived by her loving husband David Sanderson, her two children, Alexa and Nicholai Roscoe, and her step-daughter, Sarah Roscoe. She is also survived by her step-children, Joshua Sanderson of Seattle, WA, Beth Collins and her husband, Andrew, of Saratoga, CA, Jessica Sanderson and her husband, Chris Taylor, of Hood River OR, and Sarah Watkins and her husband, Kevin, of Leonardtown, MD. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Bakari and Kayla Roscoe, Kaitlin and Connor Sanderson, Jake and Sophia Calvelli, Knox and Emma Taylor, and Morgan and Avery Watkins. She is also survived by her brother, John (Carl) Williamson and his wife, Mary, of Warwick, MA, her brother, Mark Williamson and his wife, Lisa, of Newburyport, MA, and her sister, Lisa Clark, of Acton MA. She is survived by many other loving family members and friends.

Karin was defined by her warm and giving spirit, and a generosity towards others. She was a peacemaker who had a love for our local homemade ice cream. She enjoyed visits to the beach, reading novels and was also an avid swimmer. Karin's smile would light up a room, and her loving nature will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made "In Memory of Karin E Williamson" to the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC, 20090-6011, or online.
