Judy's Tribute Page is still in progress, created at this time for our mother's obituary for memorial contributions to be made to the Alzheimer's Association and to view her Tribute Page.

Our mother, Judy, was never diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, but she was stricken with dementia, which became rather noticeable in her mid 70's, so it could have been the onset of Alzheimer's. She would never acknowledge there was anything wrong with her memory, thought process or judgement, insisting she was just fine. Was she in denial or did she even have the mental capacity to know when it started, that she too had dementia, just like her mother Maude who died from Alzheimer's at 93 and her sister Betty who had died at 90. How frightening it must have been, because she did know the disease ran in our family. While having a parent or sibling with Alzheimer's doesn't mean you too will have it, it places you at higher risk, It's scary and makes me wonder if/when Alzheimer's Disease will also steal the life from me or family member....hoping for a cure soon.

Your donation will help with research to find a cure, so maybe one day you or your loved ones will not have to deal with this horrific disease. Your donation will help continue the wonderful support and programs provided by the Alzheimer's Association for families and their loved ones struggling with Alzheimer's and Dementia.

Our mother, Judy Lorraine Calvin Haynes was 82 when she passed away at home on September 27, 2021 in Greenville, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.

Judy was born April 19, 1939 to the late Robert McConahey and Maude (Blue) Calvin Sr. in Hartstown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. She attended East Fallowfield and Conneaut Lake schools. Our mother grew up on the family farm and then this country girl had the opportunity to live in several states and European countries.

Judy was a kind hearted soul, a real people person who lived for family picnics and visiting with family and friends. She was known to strike up friendly conversations with people she encountered throughout her day. Judy loved reading, writing journals, square dancing, house plants, the paintings done by her mother, light houses, the fall season and trips to the mountains. She enjoyed church, music, sewing, movies, bingo and rides in the country.

At this time in October 2021, Judy is survived by her children Carey, Jim and DeAnna, a son Jay is deceased; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and her youngest brother, Gary.

More to come soon!
