Jacque lived to be 91 years old. And for the majority of her life she was healthy. It wasn't until about 6 or 7 years ago both friends and family members noticed she was not functioning properly. After visits to a neurologist at Houston Methodist Hospital, it was determined that she had early signs of Alzheimer's disease. It was not a huge shock to her and her family because of her recent actions. She continued to battle the disease for a long time with that beautiful and positive attitude of hers. Over the subsequent years she deteriorated as she battled Alzheimer's disease. For a little over 4 years she lived in an assisted living facility in her home town (La Vita Bella) where she was lovingly cared for. She had good days and bad ones, as is typical with this disease. Her brave and beautiful spirit would afford us numerous smiles, even up until her passing. Please help Jacque support research to end this debilitating disease. Both Jacque and her family thank you for your gift in her memory.
