Herbert was born on August 18, 1931, in Newark NJ, and passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones, on April 25, 2024, in Tallahassee, FL. Husband to Greta (nee Pruzan) for 60 years until she died in 2015; father to Benita (Pierre Siry), Alan (Gail), and Daniel (Dana); grandfather to Benjamin (Shawn), Marcus Levin (Shauna), Jacob (Amber), and Zachary, Rob Ward, and Heather LeBlanc (Jim); great-grandfather to Reese and Isla Levin, and Brandon LeBlanc; and brother to Ilene Field (Gerson), Herb served in the US Army, as Private First Class, and was stationed in Germany. Upon his discharge, he married his beloved Greta, and they lived in Chicago, where he owned a childcare center. Several years later, the family followed dear friends to South Florida (where he had met and courted Greta), and he opened a 2nd childcare center, then became a successful realtor. Herb enjoyed being surrounded by family, friends, food, and festivity. Early on he bowled, played Monopoly, collected stamps and coins. He was great at fixing things, and loved shopping, cars, movies, TV, trivia, travel, and telling jokes. Memorial services to be announced.
