Mom was diagnosed with a mild dementia in 2000. She immediately saw a specialist which started her on a low dose medication. She had frequent follow ups with the doctor so if we noticed any changes, they could increase her dosage. Mom was very fortunate that the medication did maintain her dementia to a minimum and she able to live out her life still knowing everyone and carrying out day to day activities.
