Dan lost his hard-fought battle from complications related to Alzheimer's Disease on March 10, 2023, 5 years after his initial diagnosis. Dan was fortunate to have his loving wife, daughter, two sons, and sister bedside with him at the time of his passing. Family meant the world to Dan.

Dan was second oldest of 4 siblings, raised in North Reading, MA on Martin's Pond. Dan watched his kids grow up in Atkinson, NH, all the while commuting into Cambridge, MA for work where he developed many lifelong friends. He moved to Newburyport, MA seven years ago, to be closer to his 5 grandkids because there was nothing better for Dan than to be surrounded by family.

Dan made many new friends in Newburyport as making friends was very easy for Dan as he was always a good listener and enjoyed talking about all walks of life. Dan could find the goodness in every person and never spoke an ounce of ill-will about anyone.

Dan had a grand love for music and dancing. Anyone who knew Dan loved to watch him work a dancefloor like no one else. Hands perched in a certain way and his legs shimmying up and down, he was at peace working a dance crowd, all the while bringing smiles to the faces of all onlookers.

He was an avid golfer and there was nothing more he enjoyed doing than walking 18 holes with his siblings and friends. Golf was his favorite sport to watch on television and there always seemed to be a match on when you visited him at his house.

Dan was also a man of immense patience. He never wanted to argue but rather would listen to everyone's viewpoint to better educate him on a topic.

The world is worse off now without Dan but he imparted his wisdom and smile on all those he met over the years.

Dan was "the man." The mold has been broken.
