Our Team Story

Welcome to YEAR 6!

The Brooklyn Memorial Cup for Alzheimer's is back for its sixth consecutive summer as it continues its mission of raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research.

This year, our 9-inning softball game will be played at a Collegiate Baseball Field in Brooklyn, NY.

Kingsborough Community College is granting The Brooklyn Memorial Cup for Alzheimer's the use of their home field in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn, NY.

For the FIRST TIME in event history, The BK Nationals – a team composed of Brooklyn community members – find themselves in unfamiliar territory as the challengers. They had their four-year long dynasty ended by The BK Americans – a team composed of Sports Media members – in the summer of 2023. For The BK Americans, their triumph in 2023 represented the franchise’s FIRST EVER championship and they enter 2024 as the reigning champions.

At the end of the day one team will hoist The Lenny DiCristino Memorial Cup. And one player will distinguish him- or her-self as the Morton Blittner Game MVP.

The legacy of The David Gross Advocacy Award will continue to be grown as it will again be given to an individual who does their part in the community to raise awareness for Alzheimer's research.

MSG Networks’ NY Islanders Television Host, Shannon Hogan has been selected as the 2024 recipient of The David Gross Advocacy Award for her involvement with the Alzheimer’s cause; which stems back to her Grandfather, who suffered from the disease.

They provide funding for small and medium businesses nationwide with at least six-months operating history and a minimum of $10,000 in revenue per month in all industries.
