William “Bill” Clyde Tageson passed away peacefully in Grand Rapids, Michigan on August 30, 2023 at the age of 74.
He was born in Manistee, Michigan on August 24,1949. He made lifelong friendships throughout his career at JCPenney which led him to many cities, including Flint, Holland, Saginaw, Kalamazoo and Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. It was here he met some of his best friends and ran his own business, HorsePlace, before moving back to his beloved hometown of Manistee to enjoy his retirement.
Bill always had a smile and a story to share, and he got better looking every day. He loved salmon fishing on Lake Michigan, golfing, and playing cards with anyone who would take a seat at the table. But Bill was truly happiest when surrounded by his family.
He will forever be remembered by his wife, Deborah. He was the loving father of five children: William Tageson Jr., Christopher Tageson, Matthew (Dawn) Tageson, Sarah Tageson and Megan (Nick) Hilliard and his grandchildren Riley, Miller, Carter, Cassandra Jean, and Raegan. He is also survived by his sisters Penny Ozdych and Patricia Pepera and his brothers- and sisters-in-law: Diane Beecher, Shelley Alger, Stephen Alger, Sherrie Alger, Charles (Jeanne) Alger, John (Heather) Alger and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Tageson and Sara (Maternowski) Tageson, his first wife Sandra (Lyman) Tageson and brothers-in-law Richard Pepera, Lee Ozdych, Richard Beecher and Don Alger.
